Revealed: Leader of Passenger Car Market in Hungary Named
Suzuki retained its leading position on Hungary's passenger car market in 2025, Magyar Suzuki said.

Datahouse statistics show over 14,200 new Suzuki passenger cars were registered in Hungary in 2025, giving the brand 11.04pc market share.

Suzuki took the top spot for the 22nd time since it started production of cars in Esztergom (N Hungary).

Two models produced at the plant, the S-CROSS and the Vitara, were top-selling models in 2025. S-CROSS sales reached 6,500, making it the best-selling car in Hungary, and Vitara sales came to 5,590, putting it in third place.

Sales of the Suzuki Swift, also made in Esztergom, came to 1,967.

New managing director appointed at Magyar Suzuki

Fumito Sakai will take over as managing director of Magyar Suzuki from March 1, the local unit of Japanese car maker Suzuki said on Wednesday.

Sakai will replace Masato Atsumi, who headed Magyar Suzuki for close to five years and will continue his career in Japan.

Sakai worked at Magyar Suzuki in 2018-2018, before taking over as manager for the Central and Eastern Europe Department at Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan.

Suzuki's only manufacturing unit in Europe is in Hungary. Magyar Suzuki's plant in Esztergom, north of the capital, produces Vitara and S-CROSS models.
