The statement cited the biochemist as saying that "if the request is for my knowledge and experience, rather than my name, then I will accept the role of health advisor, but only without pay."

"I can offer advice on matters within my expertise. For example, what works well in the American or German health-care systems could be adapted to patient care in Hungary," she said.

"The most important thing is what people can do for themselves. This is prevention, the essence of which is a healthy diet, regular exercise, and a good night’s rest," she added, also emphasising the importance of attending regular screenings.

Our Homeland rejects Kariko appointment

The opposition Our Homeland Movement on Tuesday protested against the appointment of Katalin Kariko, who was awarded the Novel Prize for her work on mRNS vaccines, as councillor to the health-care minister.

Lawmaker Istvan Szabadi said in a statement that mRNS vaccines "made millions of people sick worldwide."

He also slammed Zsolt Hegedus, the nominee for health-care minister, for saying he would not withdraw Hungary from the World Health Organisation.

"That has made it clear that Tisza is following the same globalist goals as the Fidesz government, which led the way in [implementing] the vaccine terror and fully served the interests of WHO and Big Pharma during the covid pandemic," he said.

Hegedus himself had assisted to implementing WHO recommendations and the vaccination programme, he said.

Szabadi insisted that the WHO intended to "take over the leadership of states in a pandemic and to form a world government."

He also said Our Homeland had been the only party to champion the plight of those "harmed by vaccines" and protests against the "attack launched against individual freedom and national sovereignty."

He also called on the government to investigate "crimes committed under Covid" and to compensate those who had been harmed by the vaccines, and to withdraw from the WHO, he said.
