Watch: Century-Old Ford Model T Takes Centre Stage at Hungarian National Museum
A 100-year-old Ford Model T has arrived at the Hungarian National Museum, where it was carefully lifted by crane and wheeled into the building under strict conservation measures on Monday morning.

The historic vehicle will feature in the museum's upcoming exhibition, The American Dream, opening to the public on Thursday, the museum noted.

The Ford Model T, a centrepiece of the Transport Museum's collection, holds special significance as its design involved two Hungarian engineers, Jozsef Galamb and Jeno Farkas.

Curators Klara Radnoti and Angelika Orgona chose to include it in the exhibition to highlight this connection. The car, exactly a century old this year, boasts a 3,500cc engine with 18 horsepower and remains fully operational.

The American Dream exhibition, marking the 250th anniversary of US independence, will showcase not only the Ford Model T but also a wealth of fascinating artefacts.

At its heart, the exhibition explores the lives of Hungarians who emigrated to America, alongside the stories of famous figures who spent time in the US, including Lajos Kossuth, Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Zsazsa Gabor, and Zita Szeleczky, with personal mementoes on display.

The American Dream – Hungarians in the United States, 1776–2026 will run from Jul 30 to Nov 1.
