Public Transport Night Service Connecting Budapest with Suburbs to Expand
- 2 Jun 2026 10:50 AM
In a post on Facebook, Vitezy pointed to the earlier success of an upgrade of bus night service in the capital as well as a decision to operate the circuitous number 6 tram all night.
With populations in the suburbs on the rise, he said it was time for another rethink of public transport service.
Metro service was extended till late in the evening from the summer of 2025, and the bus network will be replanned as a second step, he added.
Vitezy said routes of Budapest public transport company BKK needed to be coordinated with those of interurban bus company Volan.
