Torrential Rain In Budapest, 24 July 2006
Monday afternoon's tropical downpour in Budapest flooded roads and cellars, especially in Buda, as water streamed down from the hills. Water flowed as high as 50cm near Déli train station, causing incoming trains to stop at the Kelenföldi station.
Car traffic practically came to a standstill around Moszkva tér, as fire-fighters were unable to pump away the enormous quantity of water. Several trams were unable to run.
