Musical Comic Book Exhibition in Budapest Will Feature the Beatles, Nirvana & Local Stars
- 18 Mar 2025 12:39 PM

According to the organizers' statement sent to MTI, the comics were created by the Master-Lab Comics team, the witty drawings by Csaba Mester, and the stories by Attila Tóth-Laboncz. They are also musicians, the former was the bassist for Bedlam, the latter for Tankcsapda.
As they wrote, the exhibition will reveal to visitors how comedian László Hadházi "performed" with AC/DC, how the Hooligans "participated" in time travel and held a concert during the time of the pharaohs.
Ganxsta Zolee and the Kartel perform in Mexico, meet Messi, and are then accused of robbing a bank. The group is innocently arrested, and Lieutenant Columbo eventually uncovers the truth.
Some comics are based on reality, such as Nirvana's concert in Hungary. The band, then still unknown in America, gave a concert at the Petőfi Hall on November 21, 1989, and two years later the song Smells Like Teen Spirit brought them worldwide fame.
The frames were created based on the accounts of people who were present at the Budapest concert and behind the scenes.
A documentary comic was also made about American singer Henry Rollins and Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a road accident.
The pieces in the exhibition are shown with comments from music journalists: below the images you can read the thoughts of Norbert Uzseka, Miklós Pintér (Grungery) and Mihály Rácz (Lángoló).
The Drawing & Roll exhibition can be seen for free from March 29 to April 6 in Budapest, at Savoya Park.
