Free Showings of AI Films at Budapest SmartFest Festival
The Budapest SmartFest international film festival will be held for the second time, at which interested parties can see works created with the help of artificial intelligence and filmed with smartphones on March 27-28 in the Cinema City Mammut II. cinemas.

In a statement sent to MTI, the organizers wrote that the festival will showcase how technology is transforming visual culture and film. They said in the statement: "A creative revolution is taking place worldwide, centered on artificial intelligence - but behind it there is always a human being."

The festival will feature works from almost forty countries, from Canada to China, they added.

"Artificial intelligence does not replace the artist, but rather expands their possibilities. AI tools unleash creative energies, enabling anyone, even with minimal resources, to make professional-level films. This is no longer the music of the future, but the reality of the present - and those who do not become familiar with AI-based film technologies today may be at a competitive disadvantage tomorrow," the statement quoted Ervin Sallai, founder of SmartFest, as saying.

The Budapest SmartFest is assisted by Oscar-winning director Kristóf Deák as a professional advisor - the information sheet reads.

The jury includes experts such as Oscar-winning director István Kovács, director Attila Hartung, animation director Katalin Glaser, Attila Pálfalusi, head of the MOME Media Design department, art historian Brigitta Iványi-Bitter and experts from Prompters Hungary and Raizen Art AI.

The announcement also mentioned that the special award from the festival's sponsor, Samsung, specifically recognizes the joint creations of human creativity and artificial intelligence.

The film festival provides students from many schools with a free opportunity to learn about the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence and digital film technologies, the statement says.
