St. Andrew's Day Ball, Budapest Marriott Hotel, 30 November 2019
"As President of the St. Andrew’s Association, I have to thank the Marriott for an excellent meal and service again," said Duncan Graham to XpatLoop.com.
With the help of Scottish Chef Paul Mizener, the Marriott chef Josi prepared some Scottish specials: Haggis scotch eggs, Whisky cured salmon and Cranachan. Double Scotch Ceilidh Band (sponsored by Chris Clarke) produced a great performance as did the regular St Andrew's Ball band ‘Babel Rock’.
Duncan continued, "A huge thanks to our sponsors and donors who helped with our charitable cause, including H.E. Iain Lindsay, our British Ambassador whose support is greatly appreciated.
Iain Lindsay OBE, HM Ambassador to Hungary, told XpatLoop, “Hats off to the St Andrew’s Association of Hungary and its President Duncan Graham for a magnificent St Andrew’s Ball on Saturday. It was the best yet in my time here.”
Duncan Graham added, "We were also delighted to welcome Ambassador Gargan from the Embassy of Ireland, along with many returning guests and new faces. All together we noted sixteen nationalities at the event. Everyone was in terrific form, dancing all night and celebrating ceilidh style!
In total 260 guests attended, which was as many as we could take, who with their generosity raised circa HUF 3 million for charity."
