I decided to teach because working as a broker seriously challenged my ethics and integrity.

I like to travel and just relax and sometimes do absolutely nothing.






1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
I arrived August 20th,2008. I came to Budapest to teach in an elementary school and to discover this great country.

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Japan

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
How polite the checkout personnel are. This doesn't mean that I expected them to be rude or cold as I've found in a certain other European Capital city. No, I just am amazed at how genuinely enthusiastic and professional they are considering the job. Wal-Mart, take note.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
This response won't make me any friends in the Tourism Board, but I recommend just walking around the city and taking in whatever sights catch your eye. Spontaneity makes for great travel experiences.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
LÁNGOS

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Orange juice, paradiscom, paprika.

7.What is your favourite Hungarian word?
Szabadság

8. What do you miss most from home?
Watching tv, going to the driving range, kicking back on the beach and watching the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico. Oh, yes, I almost forgot: American style pizza.

9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
I would like to have been Michael Palin's assistant during his travels around the world.

10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
In Budapest: Metro Tix Cop. In America: Bernie Madoff's PR guy.

11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
It was so long ago I don't remember.

12. Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?
I'm returning to America for 2 weeks then back home here. Maybe I'll go to Madrid when I return. Or Balaton.

13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
Bands? I listened to The Doors, Stones, LedZ. Film? The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Hobbies? I played hockey and lacrosse.

14. What can't you resist?
That might be telling.

15. Red wine or white?
I'll bring the right one. But the correct answer is Dreher.

16. Book or movie?
Both. But nothing compares to discovering something new among those pages you thought you knew so well....

17. Morning person or night person?
No preference either way.

18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
People who abuse animals.

19. Buda or Pest side?
Buda: it's where I work.

20. What would you say is your personal motto?
When you come to that fork in the road, do you choose the Stairway to Heaven or the Highway to Hell?
