David P Carroll, Poet in Budapest

1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?

 In 2004 I arrived in Hungary. I'm from Ireland and my parents fell in love with Hungary and bought a house. 

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?

No I've only lived in Ireland and Hungary.

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?

Hungary is a country full of surprises and fascinating stories.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do? 

A romantic meal with her and read her love poems I wrote and we fall in love in Budapest, and kissing under the Moonlight.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?

Chicken paprikash is my favorite meal everytime I'm in Hungary I love it. 

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?

Cheese I love all types of cheese I can't get enough of cheese.

7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?

Tényleg gyönyörű vagy.I love telling women there Truly beautiful watching them smile is the best part knowing they know I'm romantic.

8. What do you miss most from home? 

Nothing really I'm a happy person and always fill my heart up with peace happiness and never ending love I'm always smiling.

9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?

I'd love to write in Hollywood I was offered a music contract and to write for several Newspaper companies around the world.

10. What's a job you would definitely never want?

Working in the morgue because it would break my heart seen loved ones who are in your Heart forever layed out dead so sad R.I.P to all our loved ones who have sadly passed away.

11. Where did you spend your last vacation?

My last holiday was in Italy so beautiful so warm kind caring loving people are so respectful and always have time for the old people like myself helping old people in and around Hungary I wrote a love poem for a couple getting married everyone loved it. 

12. Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?

In a few weeks time I'll be visiting my Auntie Mrs Carroll she's 102 in County Wicklow Ireland and I love her so much. 

13. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?

I love cream cakes what do you love? Cream cakes who loves cream cakes I do I do I do I recently had a check up and the nurse she was in stitches laughing I told her cream cakes are my weakness I love them.

14. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?

The Rolling Stones I move like Jagger on the dance floor and sing like Elton John and John Lennon I truly love them.

15. Red wine or white?

 Red wine from Bordeaux.Chateau Haut Gleon Cuvée Notre Dame  Chateau Beaumont wine so beautiful to enjoy with pasta while I'm writing a Romantic Poem.

16. Book or movie?

I read history books I've a degree in History and Geography I've a Romeo And Juliet certificate I won for Poetry I love good films as well horror scary romantic ones and sci-fi movies.

17. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?

Poverty is breaks my heart to see people who Are homeless sleeping rough it's just sad and I feel there pain deep inside my heart.

Every morning I'm always happy I always check in on several old people drop a cake on there door steps and continue to walk the dog on the way back home the amount of people who thank me for being so good to there elderly mother or father or grandparents at night I enjoy a hot chocolate some popcorn and a good film.

18. Buda or Pest side?

Buda Definitely the classier and more residential side of the city I find it more peaceful and quiet. 

19. Morning or night person? 

I love the mornings getting up early to walk my dog Max. 

20. What would you say is your personal motto?

 Smile from the heart and the whole world will smile to respect and love each other especially the old people in life because life is to short and the amount of good people who have sadly passed away.
