This year’s Sziget Festival attracted 416,000 visitors, but organisers say it was not financially profitable. “We are coming out of a negative period that lasted until roughly the end of 2022,” the organisers told MTI.

To mark Budapest Zoo’s 158th birthday, on August 9 the public was introduced to Csángó and Hargita, two young brown bears. Their arrival ends a two-year hiatus since the last brown bears were introduced in summer 2022.

The most spectacular fireworks show of all time will be the highlight of the August 20 celebrations. More people will be able to enjoy the fire and light show than before: instead of the previous 4.3 kilometers, the show will be visible over 5 kilometers long along the Danube, said the Government Information Center (KTK) in response to the inquiry of Magyar Nemzet.
