Hungary’s employment figures have improved substantially since the second half of 2013, the state secretary in charge of employment said, commenting on the European Commission’s latest report on Hungary. According to fresh data, 66,000 new jobs have been created and the jobless rate stands around 7-8% now for more than six consecutive months, Sándor Czomba told public news channel M1.

A second giraffe birth has just taken place at our zoo. On March 25, The Budapest giraffe herd gained another member. Our female called Sandra gave birth to a living giraffe in the early afternoon. Her keepers knew that the birth was due but expected the calving to happen later. Furthermore, giraffes usually have their calves at night

Fully 67% of men and 62% of women fell into the category of overweight or obese, and the problem rose with age, the survey prepared by the National Institute for Food and Nutrition Science (OETI) said.

A local referendum will be held in the 12th District on May 17 on a proposal to build tourist attractions in nature conservation areas in the hilly Normafa area. A forestry school, ski slopes, a ski lift, a playground, road renovations and public lighting are all included in the plan. According to the feasibility study, the project will cost Ft 6.9 billion.
