Today I spent my third and final day at the Sziget Festival for this year. It was, unsurprisingly, a day of threes – third speech in Hungarian, policemen from three countries, three unexpected faces on Hungarian banknotes, and a meeting with three organisations. And Team GB remains third in the Olympic medals table. I am now passing the baton to three of the younger generation for the weekend.

The 7th Budapest Pride March, an event which boasts a long history, took place in Budapest in early July. The first organized LGBTI film festival (1993) was preceeded by a picnic in 1992. The government begs to differ with human rights watchdog Amnesty International on the conclusions of its report on Hungary published on Wednesday, the justice ministry said. AI's report failed to cover the major steps Hungary has taken to enforce human rights over the past two years while remaining silent about insults to ethnic Hungarians abroad, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

On 6 April 2012 the Chief of Budapest Police issued a resolution banning the 2012 LGBT Pride march, scheduled on 7 July 2012. Amnesty International is concerned that the banning of the Pride march violates the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people to exercise their freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of expression without discrimination.
