Autumn Truffle Hunting In Hungary

You may normally associate truffles with Italy & France, but truffle hunting happens in Hungary too! Such a pleasant surprise it was for me to learn the wonderful countryside of Hungary is actually a powerhouse for truffles, and as close as the forested outskirts of Budapest there’s an abundance of one of the most expensive foodstuffs on the planet.

Last Friday evening a fine array of the city’s gentry, and some special ladies, gathered together for a pre-Whisky Show taster, with some lovely gin thrown in for good measure. Iain Lindsay OBE hosted the event together with his wife Bridget Lindsay at their home in Hungary.
