The European Commission has taken an infringement procedure launched against Hungary further and sent a reasoned opinion concerning the law affecting NGOs financed from abroad. The EC said a reasoned opinion has been sent, which represents the second phase of the infringement procedure launched in July.

Police have closed down a bar in downtown Budapest and arrested four people for overcharging tourists. During an operation held on Thursday night, police caught employees of the bar in the fifth district red-handed as they billed 170,000 forints (EUR 550) for two bottles of champagne and two glasses of spirits to a Japanese citizen, the police website said on Friday.

To mark the anniversary, an Airbus A350, the latest long-range, wide-body jet airliner of Lufthansa’s fleet, will touch down on Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport on September 8, the company told MTI in a statement.
