Hungary’s National Investigation Office has scrutinised almost 900 offshore companies with ties to Hungary revealed in the leaked Panama Papers, daily Magyar Idők said. The Municipal Court sentenced a man for soliciting payment from a US company based in Hungary in return for using his influence to lower the VAT rate on cooking oil.
