The Robert Burns International Foundation is well underway with preparations for the 19th Budapest Burns Supper to be held at the Corinthia Hotel on 23 January 2016.The event in January 2015 was a sell-out with all of the tables being reserved by Christmas, and early interest suggests the RBIF can expect no less in January 2016.

Almost 240 guests were treated to a splendid Scottish style 5-course dinner worthy of the 5-star hotel, complete with beer sponsored by Heineken, wines sponsored by Varga Pincészet and Hangácsi és Fia, as well as whiskies.

I'm 37 and was brought up in Glasgow, Scotland where after finishing school I made my way into deepest darkest Central Europe as an 18 year-old to teach English in Transylvania for a year. One university degree in translation and interpreting later (back in Edinburgh) I came out to Budapest to be with my fiancée. That was some 15 years ago now.
