The community of The British International School Budapest came together to celebrate the graduation of its Class of 2017 last Saturday at the Intercontinental Budapest. The event was attended by over 250 students, parents, teachers and guests, including Dr Michael Ignatieff PC CM, President and Rector of CEU, and Her Britannic Majesty’s Ambassador Iain Lindsay OBE (pictured below).

The 6th annual Gere Jazz Festival takes place June 9-10 at the Gere Attila Winery in Villány on the Gere Estate. Orbán Signs Agreement On Restoring Homes Of Iraqi Christians

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Tuesday signed an agreement on the Hungarian government’s contribution of funds for restoring the houses of Iraqi Christians in Telskuf. The document was also signed by Chaldean Catholic Patriarch Louis Raphael I Sako of Babylon in Parliament.
New Danube Arena Hosting European Water Polo Stars

The Final Six of LEN Champions League will take place in the Danube Arena between 25 and 27 May. Top men’s water polo players fight for victory on the continent in a traditional six-group tournament. The tournament will be the first international event held in the Danube Arena, venue of the swimming and diving events of the 17th FINA World Championships.

The government has decided to take further measures to help families, with an emphasis on helping mothers get a job and opening creches at workplaces, the human resources minister announced. Speaking at an event organised by the German Economic Club (DWC) in Budapest on Saturday evening, Zoltán Balog said the government would spend a total 6 billion forints (EUR 19.4m) on the creche programme.
