The Strasbourg-based European Court of Human Rights has ordered Hungary to pay €16,000 in compensation and €2,150 in trial costs as it ruled that the Hungarian authorities violated the rights in several points of a severely physically and mentally handicapped person.

Szeged prosecutors yesterday indicted Norbert Németh, the chief judge of Csongrád county court, on eight counts of bribery, forgery of public documents and abuse of office. Earlier, a well known Szeged lawyer was taken into custody on suspicion of getting an entrepreneur out of custody by bribing the suspect judge.
