Chief Judge Indicted On Bribery Charge In Hungary
Szeged prosecutors yesterday indicted Norbert Németh, the chief judge of Csongrád county court, on eight counts of bribery, forgery of public documents and abuse of office. Earlier, a well known Szeged lawyer was taken into custody on suspicion of getting an entrepreneur out of custody by bribing the suspect judge.

Prosecutors say the judge was given up to Ft 3.3 million to release the suspect from custody and also managed to have a lower court conviction overturned on appeal.

No corruption-related proceedings have been launched against any judge since the change of regime, Magyar Hírlap writes.
