Industrial relics, lord’s palaces and villas will open their gates and, for the first time this year, the Citadella and the Economy Ministry will be open to visitors on September 17 and 18 during the days of Cultural Heritage event. The days will be hosted in 54 locations.

The last time was only a few days ago, when it was discovered that the readers of an English-language internet site, Daily Dot, considered Makovecz’s Catholic church in Paks the most “evil-looking church” anywhere.

The government has announced a call for ideas for developing Budapest’s Gellért Hill, with a budget of Ft 40 million. The aim of the contest is to come up with ideas for revitalising the hill, its buildings, parks and artistic heritage. The Prime Minister’s Office also welcomes suggestions for the use of the Citadella fortress building on top of the hill.
