"The cabinet has submitted to Parliament a bill that will give women preferential retirement terms, government spokesman Anna Nagy announced on Monday. Women will be entitled to a complete pension, after forty years of service, including up to eight years raising children, as of January 1, she added."

"István Bartos, one of the designers of the forint coins minted in 1993, and still in use died on Tuesday, his family announced. Bartos died at the State Institute for the Physically Handicapped, where he had been living and working in a wheelchair since 1976.
