On Monday morning the 20th Sziget Festival officially ended. Glastonbury’s founder, Michael Eavis was amongst the 379 thousand visitors, generously praising Sziget for being even more colourful than his own event. Besides celebrating the 20th edition, Sziget also welcomed its 6 millionth visitor this year.
Remarkable Success For Hungary At 2012 Olympics

With eight gold, four silver and five bronze medals, Hungary took 9th place in the final official medals table for the 2012 London Olympics. This is the first time since the 1992 Barcelona Olympics that Hungary has come in the top ten. Taking population size into account, Hungary was the most successful nation in Europe. Team GB might not have won any medals on 8 August (although we were very happy to see Hungary doing so well), but for me it was a day of firsts: Day 1 of the Festival was also the first anniversary of my arrival in Budapest and I made my first visit to the Sziget Festival and my first speech in Hungarian.

The Sziget 2012 live stream schedule is now complete and available on the official Sziget YouTube channel. A total of 50 Sziget concerts will be live streamed on YouTube between 8 and 12 August, from 3PM CET till late at night each day.
