"Staged on the last weekend in August, the events of Savaria Historic Carnival pay tribute to Szombathely's historic past. Around a hundred thousand participate in the events which include historical games and a procession of the residents dressed in period costumes. The festivities truly bring bygone days to life from Roman times to the Baroque period.

Yep, late January, time for the separate Burns' Suppers throughout Budapest, where there's a choice for every taste and wallet. This year's various events were a touch extra special, as it was the 250th anniversary of the Bard's birth. Read on for a review of the top three 'Burns' bulis'.

On September 28th there were two opening events in one. The new Bortarsasag wine store opened up late to host the release of the 4th edition of the Visible Cities Budapest book written by Annabell Barber, Emma Roper- Evans and David Hill.
