Titanic International Film Festival Kicks Off On 10 April

The 22nd Titanic invites audiences to five different venues in Budapest between 10-18 April: Toldi Cinema, Puskin Cinema, Uránia National Film Theatre, Örökmozgó Cinema and A38. Titanic 2015 offers 52 films representing 34 nations in 8 sections. The crowd favorite may well be Still Alice. This year there will be 8 films in competition for the Breaking Waves Award. As of January 2015, Julien Daubas has been appointed Executive Assistant Manager of Le Meridien Budapest. After having taken different responsibilities in Sales and Marketing in Paris and South of France at the Le Meridien Juan les Pins and Le Meridien Nice, Julien moved to Hungary in 2010 to take over the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for Le Meridien Budapest.

The 22nd edition of the Titanic International Film Festival will run between 10-18 April in Budapest but the pre-festival events start already in March. A very special film-concert will be presented on the A38 on 22nd March: Claudio Simonetti will perform live with his friends along with the screening of horror classic Suspiria.

A funicular runs up Castle Hill to Buda’s Old Town, where the Budapest History Museum traces life from Roman times onwards. Spending on film production in Hungary as a percentage of economic output is by far the highest in Europe. Hungary provided the production base for 250 movies and television films in 2010-2014, the media authority (NMHH) reported, commenting on European Audiovisual Observatory data. Productions averaged 46 billion forints (EUR 151m) each year over the period.
