It has become a tradition in the course of the Budapest music competitions to organize every fith year an international violin competition named after the world-famous Hungarian violinist József Szigeti. A peculiarity of the event to take place in September 2012 is that both young violinists and viola players are invited to the competition.

Gwendolyn Masin's debut concert starts at 6pm on 14 September at Béla Bartók Memorial House in Budapest. Gwendolyn Masin, child of a Hungarian mother and an Irish father, is a popular violinist in Europe's greatest concert venues. She has already played at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy when she was 5, but now, she is intended to conquer the Hungarian audience again.

The celebrations will begin on August 19 when the 'Street of Hungarian Flavours' will open at noon between the Buda side of the Erzsébet híd and Bem tér.
