Costes Budapest Wins 'Best Restaurant', Again

Costes has once more been awarded the accolade of 'Best Restaurant 2012' by the local Dining Guide publication. This is the second time the restaurant has won this prize, the most prestigious award in the Hungarian gastronomy scene. The prize was received by expat chef Miguel Viera Rocha, and Károly Gerendai the main owner of Costes.

A car and motor sport complex for hosting international races will be built in Borsod county, Magyar Hírlap reports. The 2.6 kilometre racing track will meet International Autosport Federation (FIA) and International Motorsport Federation standards, meaning that Formula One races could be held there.

"We arranged a screening of the new Bond film, Skyfall, last week. On the same day it premiered here in Budapest. And we invited our closest contacts and friends to share the evening with us. It was great to see members of government, politicians, people from ministries, NGOs and just friends of the Embassy relaxing at the movies.

Some 25-30 people camped outside the entrance to the Human Resources Ministry shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. Ten participants pulled black nylon coverings over themselves, reminiscent of sacks in which human bodies are laid, and then lay down on cartons on the pavement. A symbolic farewell was bidden to them and a flower was placed on them.

The new land bill will outlaw the sale of farmland to foreigners, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told the youth section of farmers group Magosz in Cegléd last Saturday. The bill, submitted to Parliament on July 12, will “protect farm land from speculators and bankers” and limit large estates. It will also regain “land stolen through pocket contracts,” he said.
