Hungary will launch a new festival celebrating 20th century composer-pianist Béla Bartók this spring, the director of the Palace of Arts (MÜPA), the festival organiser, said.

Unlike Prague, Budapest is not known for being home to many public parks. So András Györfi took matters in his own hands and created a self-proclaimed Tree Commando to make the Hungarian capital just a little bit greener. Having already planted up to 250 trees personally, András believes that everyone should do their part to help save the environment. He certainly has.

The Hungarian government has stopped supporting the Budapest Spring Festival, but we are organizing it online with free programming between April 9 and 18, announced Budapest Városháza (Townhall) on Facebook.

An extension of the current Covid restrictions was just announced by Gergely Gulyás, Head of the Prime Minister’s Office. Legally this will require an extension of the emergency legal order, for which Parliament's consent will be sought, he said.
