Disaster Control offices received 1,600 reports of damage in Budapest and another 3,000 elsewhere in the wake of the storm that swept across Hungary yesterday. A house collapsed in Budapest, leaving injured people trapped under the rubble. Several trolleybuses and trams did not run as their overhead cables were damaged in the storm.

In Budapest on Tuesday, at the annual general assembly of the Union of Arab Banks, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that Hungary is an open and friendly country where there are no obstacles to investment. Foreign investors create jobs in Hungary, and for this reason they are our friends, the Prime Minister said.
