The colorful and diverse line-up of Sziget Festival 2013 is building up well, with 24 new acts freshly announced for various stages: many are new-comers to Sziget, but there will be many acts that have proven popular in previous editions of the event too. Hungary's dollar-denominated bond issue lowers the risk that the government will tap the central bank’s foreign-currency reserves, London-based analysts said, after Hungary issued five- and ten-year bonds to a total value of $3.25 billion last Tuesday. The issue practically rules out a loan agreement with the IMF, they remarked, while noting that an IMF loan would have carried much lower yields.

A decision by the International Olympic Committee’s executive committee to remove wrestling from the list of core Olympic sports has caused shock in Hungary. Hungarian Wrestling Federation president Tamás Gáspár called the move a bolt of lightning out of the blue “I simply cannot understand it. I thought wrestling had a stable place in the Olympic programme”.

The Gajdos Winery's 2009 Cabernet Franc Selection wine has won a grand gold medal at the MUNDUS VINI BioFach International Organic Wine Awards in Germany. The Gajdos Winery operates in Egerszalók, within the Eger wine region. The winery produced organically certified wines using exclusively ecologically cultivated grapes.
