Any resettlement of migrants in European Union member states must be strictly voluntary, as mandatory resettlement is unacceptable, Parliamentary Speaker László Kövér said in Luxembourg. Threats to sanction member states that do not take in migrants “do not suggest a democratic disposition,”Kövér told a conference of EU house speakers.

The occasion was a speech he delivered in Szombathely at a thanksgiving service upon the completion of a steeple for the local Hungarian Reformed church and the installation of three new bells.

To mark the start of the Shakespeare season, the Hungarian State Opera will host Shakespeare400+ festival in honour the esteemed playwright. This year, 17 adaptations will be presented in four different venues (the Opera House, Erkel Theatre, Music Academy and Müpa), including popular plays like Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
