State, EBRD Buy 15% Stakes In Erste Bank Hungary

The Hungarian state and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) today finalized acquisition of 15% stakes each in the local unit of Austrian banking group Erste, as per an agreement made in February 2015, Hungarian news agency MTI reported. Hungary reportedly paid HUF 38.9 billion for its 15% stake.

The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) will run a 550 million forint (EUR 1.7m) ad campaign over two and a half years to promote the electronic ticketing system it plans to introduce, daily Magyar Idok reported on Friday. BKK has invited bids for the ad campaign by July 29.

The National Assembly of Hungary voted on Monday to allow authorities to block websites that offer unauthorized livery services, reports Hungarian news site 444.hu. The law, which is scheduled to come into effect over the next month, was approved by MPs with a 119-61 vote, and three abstentions. The bill had been submitted ny Minister of National Development Miklós Seszták.
