Balaton Wineries Shine Again at Wine Grand Prix in Hungary

The Hungarian Wine Writers’ Circle (MBK) has announced the winners of its annual Grand Prix, with Lake Balaton’s wine regions once again claiming the top honours. In the white wine category, the 2024 Kéknyelű from Bálint Földi (Badacsony) took the top spot, while the 2021 Peregrina blend from Zelna Winery (Balatonfüred) was named the best red.

The prestigious title of “Winery of the Year in Hungary” for 2025 has been awarded to St. Andrea Vineyard, located in Egerszalók, north-eastern Hungary. This honour recognises the exceptional achievements of the Lőrincz family in advancing Hungarian winemaking, according to Turizmus.com.
