The 135th anniversary of Béla Bartók’s birth is a time for remembering and looking back, as well as for ceaseless rediscovery. Timed for the current Bartók Memorial Year, Ludwig Museum’s international exhibition looks at the composer’s legacy through the means of contemporary art.

Simultaneously with Ludwig Museum’s recently opened exhibition Passion. Fan Behaviour and Art, Rock/Space/Time takes its audience on a journey through the recent past of the Hungarian visual arts scene. In addition to the analysis of fan behaviour, this exhibition focuses on the relation between popular music and contemporary art.

Ai Weiwei is probably the most influential contemporary artist of our times. Ernst Museum, which is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding this year, organises an exhibition of the Chinese artist’s photos made during his New York years.
