Research on household expenditures across the European Union in 2017 reveals that Hungarians spent nearly twice as much on alcohol, tobacco and narcotics compared to clothing and footwear, while also spending a lot more than the average on food, the European Unionʼs statistical agency Eurostat revealed.

The British International School, Budapest: Our Christmas Fair was a huge success with over 500 visitors this year! This fair saw the biggest group of volunteers yet coming together to contribute to this success: almost 70 volunteers across 50 different nationalities with many different languages but all with the same mission.

On Friday 30 November the Chain Bridge was lit up in the colours of the Saltire on the occasion of Saint Andrew's Day. You could also see the beautiful blue and white colours on Saturday too, as the Scottish community in Hungary held their annual St. Andrew's Ball with Scottish music and dance.
