Ms Theresa Bubbear has been appointed Chargé d'Affaires Ad Interim to Hungary. She took up her appointment on 27 April. She will succeed former British Ambassador to Hungary, Mr Jonathan Knott, who finished his posting on 26 April 2015. Theresa will lead the Embassy until the arrival of the new Ambassador to Hungary in early 2016.

Even for someone as unversed in fashion as I am, it has not escaped my attention that denim is the hot item this year. Every leading designer worth his salty prices has come out with a new angle on denim and jeans, including Christopher Kane who embroiders them with what look like matyo flowers.

By Liz Frommer: Last Thursday, April 23rd marked the re-inauguration of the Xpat Wine Club here in Budapest. Having been evidently sorely missed, the turnout was impressive, and Le Meridien’s Longitude Bar was well-filled by guests looking to get a taste or two (or seven to be exact) of exemplary Hungarian wines.
