In an ordinary goulash soup you will find normal beef chopped in bite-sized pieces, potatoes, onions and paprika. However, the restaurant at the corner of Huszár and Munkás streets doesn’t offer a lot of ordinary things. The traditional, usually rather boring dishes are presented here in a renewed way, with a modern international flair.

Hungarian news site 444.hu published an article Thursday entitled “The Top Ten Most Outrageous Things Financed in the 2017 Budget. While one can certainly argue that ridiculous (and superfluous) things are financed by states around the world, it is worth pointing out here that 444‘s list looks especially outrageous when one considers the dismal state of education and health-care.

Hungary’s average unemployment rate was 6.0% in January-March, down from 6.1% in the previous three-month period, the Central Statistical Office reported. The unemployment rate was down from 7.8% in the same period a year earlier. The number of unemployed averaged 272,800 in January-March.

Olympic Bid Logo Presented In Budapest

Organisers of Budapest’s 2024 Olympic bid unveiled their logo at a media ceremony on top of Gellért Hill on Thursday. The logo displays an image of the Statue of Liberty atop a green hill, looking onto a series of waves representing the Danube in the colours of the Olympic rings.
