The Budapest Franz Liszt Academy of Music has been selected to be recognised as a European Heritage Label site this year, the EU commissioner in charge of culture said in Budapest on Friday.

Several cultural events, film screenings and discussions on topical issues such as migration will be organised at the Francophone Festival between February 26 and April 2 this year, organisers said. The festival will open with the screening of the recent French movie, Valley of Love starring Gerard Depardieu and Isabelle Huppert in Budapest’s Urania cinema.

It wasn’t dinner as usual in Sushi Sei on Bécsi út in the III District. Rather than the classic sushi affair, the Japanese restaurant in Óbuda had turned into a pop-up dinner dedicated to Japanese-fusion cuisine featuring the talents of two Hungarian chefs Róbert Kemény and Dénes Dlusztus, good friends since chef school, but currently working in London and Bergen, respectively.
