With the Corvin shopping center and the entire Corvin project in the eight district of Budapest this area has been changed totally. Where there were just ruined buildings some years ago we can now find brand new buildings, a shopping mall and some nice restaurants and bars. By a coincidence I dropped by Vinowonka – Chocolate and Wine Bar last Saturday and here are my thoughts.
Snow Creates Temporary Chaos In Hungary

Western Hungary was hit with 15-30cm of snow on Sunday and early Monday, while Budapest was blanketed in 6-10cm. Despite the heavy snow, no villages were cut off, Development Ministry state secretary for infrastructure Pál Völner confirmed to reporters in Budapest.
Court Annuls Parts Of New Election Law In Hungary

The Constitutional Court on Friday struck down several provisions in the act on election procedure, finding that prior registration unjustifiably restricts voting rights. President János Áder had referred the act to the court in early December.

The Aviation Authority has launched administrative proceedings to investigate the circumstances of a technical fault that forced Liszt Ferenc International Airport to shut down on 7 December.
Electric Fault Closes Budapest Airport

The Liszt Ferenc International Airport had to close on Friday noon as the control tower suffered a blackout caused by water on a transformer. Arriving aircraft were redirected to Vienna or Bratislava, from where coaches picked up passengers. Many departures were cancelled.

The operation of Budapest Airport has been reopened since 7:00 AM, flight operations are back to normal. Passengers are kindly asked to contact their airline for individual flight information and advised to arrive to the airport at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of their flight.
