MOL Bubi, the public bike-sharing system that is a new mode of public transport in Budapest will be launched on Monday, 8 September 2014. Tickets will be available for purchase from Monday morning at the touch-screen terminals of major docking-stations and the MOL Bubi website, while passes go on sale at BKK’s customer service centres.

On 20 August 2014, between 9 – 9.30 pm, fireworks will be launched from four sites (three barges and the Chain Bridge) to create the traditional ceremonial 'play of lights' in the Hungarian capital. Sziget Festival has attracted a record weekly crowd of 415 000 this year. Passes were sold out already before the start of the event and on Thursday there was full house with 85 000 fans on the island. The festival keeps on using the ‘Island of Freedom’ as its slogan and even more efforts were put into the improvement of the visual experience around the festival site.

The website of the Fidesz state secretary for agriculture Róbert Zsigó was hacked in April 2013 and diverted visitors to a hardcore porn website for over a year, Blikk has discovered. After the tabloid informed the state secretariat of this, it deleted the site, saying the politician had been the “victim of a bad joke or an organized attack”.

The public debut of the “Jeles” will take place 13 August 2014, at the Sziget Festival, where anyone can get first hand experience with the app that has been developed mainly for children with no hearing disability. Developed by Hallatlan Foundation and the Vodafone Hungary Foundation, “Jeles” will officially be available for free download to iOS and Android devices from September.
Fewer Russian Tourists Coming To Hungary

The number of Russian visitors to Hungary has been lower than expected, a government official told business daily Napi Gazdaság. The paper quoted deputy state secretary for tourism Viktória Horváth as saying that though Russian tourists spent 11.7% more guest nights in Hungary in the first half of the year than in the same period of last year, the total number was below expectations.
