Hungary’s Interior Ministry has recommended the addition of a number of law-enforcement tools to the list of weapons allowed for use by the Parliamentary Guard. Included in the expanded list are hand-grenade launchers, interceptor-net guns, and an expanded list of tear-gas grenades.

Budapest’s Szabadság (Freedom) square hosted a novel demonstration of sorts Saturday evening. Starting at 5:30 pm and lasting until 10 pm, the “We will not remain silent!” protest featured musical performances by a variety of musicians and DJs, as well as speeches by notable artists and activists. As many as 10,000 people mostly in their twenties and thirties attended.

On Saturday the focus is on shorter races for the less experienced runners while on Sunday runners can choose between a half marathon (21 km), a Vivicitta (10 km). With distances ranging from 750 m to 21 km everyone in the family can find their own challenge and welcome the spring by running.
