The consecration of the fifty brass prayer wheels performed by two Tibetan monks, Drupon Konchok Jigmet and Drupon Konchok Lhundup before hundreds of devotees and interested visitors at the beginning of Tibetan Lunar New Year holiday.

The Gabrieli Choir's final concert before the summer break takes place on Friday 10th June at the Herminamezői Szentlélek templom (Bp., XIV., Kassai tér), starting at half past seven. There are four contrasting works on the programme - dating from the 18th to the 21st centuries - and chief of these is a joyful jazz mass: the Mass in Blue by Will Todd (1970- ).

So many of our expats are émigrés who have come home. My husband lived for forty five years abroad but he always rejected the epithet émigré. “If you wear galoshes,” I told him looking down at his feet on a snowy New York sidewalk, “you are an émigré.”
