Standard and Poor’s Global Ratings on Friday said it revised the outlook on Hungary’s ‘BBB-/A-3’ long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings to ‘positive’ from ‘stable’. This new rating shows that the government has handled challenges well with its economic policies, Economy Minister Mihály Varga told MTI.

The media company that owns the ad space will only say the campaign was initiated by a “private person,” but the content of the ads aligns closely with a political initiative sponsored by radical-right party Jobbik.

Consumer prices in Hungary grew by an annual 2.7% in March, slowing from 2.9% in February, the Central Statistical Office said. Emerging market analysts in London had forecast headline inflation between 2.8% and 3.3%. KSH department head Borbála Minarik attributed the slower pace mainly to the monthly decrease of fuel and tobacco prices.
