Népszava said a procedure had been launched against Spencer, a citizen of the United States, for violating immigration and residence regulations.

Two police officers have been arrested in Bács county for beating to death a Romanian who had been detained for stealing an electric saw. County prosecutors spokeswoman Csilla Gyugyi confirmed that the victim had died of a beating at the hands of police. HVG reports that the incident happened at the Izsák police station.
