Russian Home Buyers Target Hungary
Hungary and Cyprus were the two top countries for Russian residential real estate investors between January and October, according to a survey by real estate agency the NF Group, Russian website RBC reports.

In 2022, Russians mostly bought homes in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

According to the survey, 61% of buyers invest in real estate with the goal of obtaining a residence permit or citizenship.

Hungary is a popular destination for investment due to its relative affordability, the rapid rise of house prices, and also due to the residence permit programme, in which the government offers investors a five-year residency permit without the requirement of permanent residency.
