Thanks to the government’s advance planning for the 2016 budget “everyone can move forward,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in his regular Friday morning interview with public radio. The goal is to push the jobless rate down to around 3% by 2018- 2019, which in effect would mean full employment. Tax cuts are a means to stimulate employment and they are also tantamount to a pay rise, he added.

Gross Wages In Hungary Up 3.4% In February

Average gross wages in Hungary rose by an annual 3.4% to 234,367 forints (778 euros) in February. Net wages rose at the same pace to 153,511 forints, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Hungarians took home 12,446 forints in bonuses in February, on average, 9.5% more than in the same month a year earlier.

Hungary’s middle classes have thinned during the period of 2001 to 2011, according to a new Central Statistical Office (KSH) study. Ákos Huszár, one of the study’s editors, said data revealed that the share of highprestige professionals, top executives and middle management in the whole population had risen while so had the share of unskilled workers and those at the brim of society.
