Hungarian road police have stopped 6,663 drivers over speeding and recorded another 12,657 speed-limit violation cases under the European Roadpol Speed anti-speeding law enforcement campaign this month, the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) said on its website.

Budapest taxi drivers demonstrated against ride-hailing service Uber. The drivers blocked traffic in two lanes out of six on Elisabeth Bridge with a demand that Uber be banned and regulations enforced. This is the sixth time Budapest taxi drivers have mounted a demonstration against Uber since January.

Taxi drivers demonstrating against car dispatcher Uber in central Budapest closed a section of Andrássy Avenue and Bajcsy Zsilinszky Road, on Monday. The protesters completely blocked traffic in both directions of the two major routes but reopened one lane in each direction after the Budapest police warned them that a complete blockade was illegal.
