Digital Music Sales Up Sharply In Hungary In 2013

The amount of music sold digitally shot up 50% last year to nearly Ft 500 million, according to the association of music publishers Mahasz. Revenues on music streaming services have doubled. Sales of physical CD’s, DVD’s and other video products, however, continued to fall, dropping 25% last year.

The trial has begun of a 92-year-old former communist leading official charged with war crimes during the crushing of the 1956 anti-Soviet uprising. Béla Biszku has said he does not understand why he has been charged with the murder of nearly fifty people, tabloid Blikk said on Tuesday, when he was due to appear before the court.
