The Innovation Awards were handed out this week in the Hungarian parliament. One award went to Szabolcs Kun, CEO of Arenim Technologies, makers of the encryption software CryptTalk, reports RTL Klub. Ironically, CryptTalk’s Hungarian clients may end up in prison for two years if Hungary’s Ministry of the Interior has its way.

An IT system failure at Liszt Ferenc Budapest International Airport early Tuesday morning left some 2,700 passengers stranded as 15 outgoing flights were delayed. Data from the National Transport Authority indicate that 40,095 vehicles in Hungary are affected by Volkswagen’s diesel emissions scandal, Development Minister Miklós Seszták said. In his response to independent lawmaker Tímea Szabó in parliament, Seszták said the transport authority automatically certifies new cars based on approval by an EU member state regulator.
