Budapest city asset manager BFVK will invite bids for the rental of commercial spaces in stations along the fourth metro line, which are currently empty, Népszabadság reports. The BFVK collected Ft 29.2 million in rent in 2014, when the line was opened, rising to Ft 46.8 million in 2015.

Hungary ranked low among EU member states as regards learning two or more foreign languages in secondary school, a survey conducted by Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, showed. In Hungary only 6.3% of secondary school students aged between 11 and 14 learned two or more foreign languages, similar to Austria where their proportion was 9.5%, the survey conducted in 2014 showed.

The tax is the local government’s instrument for enforcing its architectural rules after the entry into force on January 1 of a new law that waives official approval for the construction of homes up to 300m2, Népszabadság observes.
